Breaking the Rules: Exploration of the Screen

Pratt Fine Arts Center
Friday-Sunday, 10am-6pm, 2/10-12/2012

Breakdown printing, a process of allowing dye to dry on the silk screen, will be our starting point in this workshop. Using the silk screen as an improvisatory tool, we will explore positive and negative marks on fabric. Starting with basic concepts, advanced techniques to create imagery and texture will be presented and developed.  This workshop will emphasize process and experimentation, learning control of technique while celebrating the happy accident.
